“I am terribly sorry - it is a diabolical thing”

Following my sell-out 2024 show, on December 5th I will be putting on another night of true crime at the fantastic Playhouse Theatre in Whitstable. Once again, the night features a long-forgotten murder case from Whitstable that gripped the nation. The audience becomes the jury for the night to examine the same evidence presented at the original trial…will you find the prime suspect guilty or not guilty?

It was a perfect summer’s day for a drive through the Kent countryside. Three women leave a country pub to return one of them to their now famous Whitstable home - but a picnic stop ends in utter disaster. The prime suspect had left a trail of mayhem and destruction around the world, all centring on an obsession with one thing….guns. But was he bad, or simply very, very, mad?

The story was so shocking it made headlines across the globe - after rediscovering the case, I thought it deserved to be brought back to wider attention, especially given the tragic parallels with an infamous set of Kent murders that gripped Britain several decades later. So join me for an incredible night of true crime and tragedy.

Murder Mysteries - We the Jury

These events see you team up with a group of friends, family or work colleagues to act as the jury on a real-life historic murder. Using documents from the original case file, I will guide you all through the evidence that was gathered against the prime suspect and presented at the actual court case. Your job is then simple – do you and your fellow jurors find the defendant guilty or not guilty? Each event lasts about 2 hours and highly enjoyable and thought-provoking experiences.
