From a book about the lives of your ancestors, to bespoke historical tours and beautiful family trees, let me help you open a window on to what makes you, you.

The Book of Ancestors

The cover of Lucy’s book

This is a highly professional and beautifully finished book detailing the lives of your ancestors. Piecing together all the primary and secondary source information available, as well as important biographical detail such as, births, deaths, marriages, children, occupations and home locations, the book contains a huge wealth of stories about the lives of past family members.

Multiple family members can have their stories told – how many profiles is entirely dependent on you and how in-depth you would like the book to be. As well as the written stories, the book is stunningly illustrated with the photos and documents that have either been uncovered in the project or provided by you. Every book contains family tree diagrams and tables of family branch members.

Price: This is based on a daily rate and the total cost rests on how much time you would like me to spend on your family’s history – doing it this way means it isn't just for those who are financially a little bit more comfortable. Perhaps one simple way to look at this is through the four main branches of your tree (e.g. paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents) – I can do all four, or start with just one. Alternatively, you may have a very precise part of your family that you would like investigating in more depth.

Ancestry Tours

Once the research is completed, I can take you on a guided tour of some of the locations that have emerged as key locations in important events in your family’s past. I will help you to intricately link these to the stories of the ancestors who lived there. Clients who have done this have said it is a bit like being in your own episode of ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’, just without the camera crew!

Doing this can really help people to further understand the lives of their family members by visually fleshing out how and where they lived – seeing surroundings can really make a family story pop out into three dimensions...for example, knowing an upbringing was very rural is great, but seeing, hearing and feeling it is something else.

Price: Again, this is based on a daily rate (plus expenses), but you would normally need a minimum of three days to make it a fully immersive experience.

Framed Family Trees

Presented in a high-class solid wooden frame with mount, this is a beautifully styled diagram of your family tree that includes names, dates; locations and occupations. It makes a stunning addition to your house and provides a brilliant talking point with friends and other family members. Personalise it to your taste with your own choice of wood, fonts and colours.

Price: This again rests on your own budget preferences and the size of your tree. Like the book, a good place to start thinking about this is through the four main branches of your family tree – how many branches you would like added is up to you. Each branch will be roughly £400-£500, depending on size.
