Uncovering the stories of the people who once lived in our houses can bring incredible connections to those who came before us. My research open windows into worlds that people thought would forever remain closed and answers questions such as who else called this place home? What jobs did they have? Were they happy? Were they rich or poor? Was anyone born or died here? Has anyone famous lived here?
Using primary documentation I can piece together many of the answers to these questions and help you to appreciate your unique connection with the people who also walked across the very same floors. I can literally help you to find out what your walls have seen and heard…it really doesn’t have to be big or grand – all houses have their stories to tell.
House history works brilliantly when it’s about the place you’ve called home for many years, but some of my clients have also commissioned me after immediately falling in love with their new homes. You might not even live there yourself, as they are amazing house-warming gifts or presents for weddings, birthdays or anniversaries. Because it’s a completely unique and high quality product, it is always wonderfully received. There is even research that is increases the value of your home.
My histories are usually in the form of beautiful coffee table books, but they can also be framed resident lists, brochures, pamphlets...really, almost any form you think works best for you.
